Petstuff: When a new
pet superstore desired to reach record sales on the east coast,
it had Nevins & Associates to help. We worked with the company
to develop a long-term marketing strategy, handled media relations
(including crisis management), event planning, and promotional support
for more than 70 stores from New York to Florida. Petstuff went
public and was purchased in a multi-million dollar deal.
Babar
& Celeste: When the distributor of Babar & Celeste products
sought to revive the Babar name and image to sell products in the
U.S., it hired Nevins & Associates. We handled all media relations,
staged events, and made contacts with foreign and domestic retailers.
The products were on the shelves in Macys, Saks Fifth Avenue,
and other prestigious retail outlets throughout the world.
Crisis
Communications: When a shopping mall needed to control the publicity
surrounding a robbery/murder on its property, it sought the experience
of Nevins & Associates. We coordinated all communications with
the press, including written statements from management; and provided
media training for involved parties. By keeping the media informed,
Nevins & Associates limited negative publicity and created a
positive media atmosphere for numerous future stories.
Community
Relations: When Comcast Cablevision sought to recover millions
of dollars in lost revenue due to cable theft, they consulted Nevins
& Associates. We developed a comprehensive "Cable Amnesty"
campaign, allowing citizens to turn themselves in without punishment.
Public awareness of cable theft was raised to an all-time high through
media coverage. The program recovered over $2 million.
Market
Entry:
When the nations largest occupational healthcare company entered
the mid-Atlantic market, it hired Nevins & Associates to introduce
its services to area VIPs and potential clients. We planned
and executed a press conference, which included participation by
Marylands governor and secretary of health among other business
and civic leaders. We followed up those efforts with an ongoing
media relations campaign, which has helped to build Concentras
client base and make this region one of the most successful new-venture
markets for the parent company. We continue to market Concentras
services through media relations and event planning in Maryland,
Delaware, Washington, D.C., New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
Cable
Show:
When a 5,000+ person convention decided to change venues for the
first time, it trusted the expertise of Nevins & Associates.
Nevins & Associates was instrumental in persuading the Atlantic
Cable Show to move to Baltimore. We handled public relations for
the 3-day event as well as convention photography, and we planned
the largest convention kick-off party the Atlantic Cable Show had
ever seen with 3,000 attendees at Camden Yards. We developed innovative
marketing techniques in and around Baltimore for individual exhibitors.
Camps
Airy & Louise:
When two 70+ year-old summer camps faced decreasing enrollment and
increased competition from "specialty" camps, they hired
Nevins & Associates. We planned and executed innovative new
programming, including special instruction by professional and Olympic
athletes. We updated the camps image in print advertising
and collateral materials and led an aggressive media relations campaign
that re-popularized the traditional summer camp experience. Campers
attended the summer of 1996 and 1997 at Camps Airy & Louise
in record numbers. In the first year of our program, Camp Louise
sold-out for the first time in decades. Total gross revenue increase
for the organization in 1996 was over $200,000.
Government
Relations:
When a relatively unknown politician wanted to become a household
name in the Baltimore area, he consulted Nevins & Associates.
We helped him network, planning events that draw distinguished guests
and crowds of people. We introduced him to area editors, reporters,
and civic, business and community leaders. He won the gubernatorial
election.
